BenKyo League
I recently(ish) signed up as a BenKyo Patreon. For those who don't know 'Benkyo' is a fox 8 Dan (might be 9 now) who has generated a lot of excellent online (free content) including a fun twitch stream that just re-started. For a small monthly fee you get access to frequent study posts and various lectures or meets when Go problems/games are looked at. I found I quite enjoyed being part of a go community because it removed some of the 'who is my next random faceless opponent from God knows where who I may never play with again' that online go sometimes suffers from.
The content was so good actually that I signed up the the League which is an internal league with the games following strict handicap rules that is played on OGS. The prize for the league tends to be a private lesson with Ben but even if you don't reach the heady heights of getting one of those then one of your games will reviewed by Ben at some point. I didn't even expect to play much in the League, it was more "I can currently afford it so support the content at a higher level"
Now I'm not a great player so I have no expectation at all of winning my group but I just had my first review of a horrific loss and it was fascinating and to my mind very high quality. The review went into some detail (and though I doubt every game will get this much info) it covered lot's of variations/problems and general game thoughts that were very useful for my weak level. There was less of the, 'instead of there - consider here' type stuff which I have seen and usually doesn't help at the DDK levels.
Anyway the OGS game link is here
AI Sensei link here
And here is the youtube review to give you a taster of how useful these reviews actually are. If you click on anything have a look at the you tube review.
If you have a small amount of spare cash then I would recommend trying this out...Here is a link to the official league page. Anyway thanks for reading as ever.
