Heavenly 200, Game 3

 

Oppo here looks like a Polish lady (at least by the name/image). Account was created 2023 though minimal play until Mid 2024. Big uplift from April this year leading to 614 games which seems about the new normal on OGS BUT only on 19*19 with 1k on 9x9 and 2k on 13*13. On the smaller boards the highest rank so far seems about a 15k. Looks like she is branching into full board with the standard performance drop as the wider space takes its toll.

Aggressive  player but not at the 'attach everything' Fox can get into

The Game started with a standard corner and single extension before it got a little wacky when a deep move by me was ignored for a wide position, a very wide position on the left.

At the end of opening I had a 3.2 ish lead and 2 corners along with 2 side positions, versus white, with 1 good corner and 1 meh corner but a lot of left/central potential.

The AI thinks I then took a commanding lead which I gradually lost through bad yose play. Can't say I disagree..

One thing I was trying was to see how easy to live in enemy territory when I had 2 escape routes and it seemed to go well leading to a potential lower kill that I wasn’t good enough to carry out.

Interesting re-appearance of the poke and run either side which I again did not pick up. That kill would have put my 51.1 points up! As it stands my 'lead' was fake as I could not follow through.

The killer end game mistake that could have cost me was misreading a block. I have seen this on 9*9 so should know better.

Bleurgh, I don't like bad mistakes that simple reading could prevent. I should have empty triangled which lost 1-1.5 points max

End result a win by less than 2 points!
