Kato Chie - Nagoya Team Captain

The Nagoya Team Captain is the 24 year old 4 Dan Kato Chie (加藤 千笑).

 With 3 wins and 5 losses last year her coach has shown great confidence in her potential in retaining her as team captain. 

She became professional in 2018 and was born 13th September 2001 so at 17.

Her play style is interesting as it switches (often very quickly) between calm territorial play and aggressive fighting, dependent on the board situation. Her games often involve tenacious fighting sequences where she attempts to overpower opposition. She also seems very comfortable in highly complex positions where difficult reading and intuition come into play. 

She has taken several high ranking scalps so is quite capable of going up against the games elites so it will be good to see whether her game has improved in the year since the League last ran.

ELO wise she is currently at 3031 making her the #460th best player in the world but her graph shows increasing potential so it is not quite certain how high she can actually rise.

She has also started moving out of the challenger ranks for various competitions but hasn't managed to reach a big tourney final yet.
