The final team I need to introduce is Nagoya. This team came last last year and has followed a wild approach to the off season which might result in disaster (again) or a surprise upset.
They retained their team Captain 4 Dan Kato Chie though with 3 wins and 5 losses she did only reasonably but possibly their best move was to draft (from Senko which did well last year) the very promising player 4 Dan Nyu Eiko who won 7 and only lost 2 previously. The team is rounded out with a new player to the league (and Professional Go) in 1 Dan Suzukawa Natsumi in the third slot and playing in what may be the reserve position 2 Dan Takao Mari (1 win 5 losses last year).
The team might be betting on youth and un-displayed potential as it has the lowest combined ELO and the lowest mean ELO but with so much youth that is not entirely surprising.
The other interesting thing about the team is that the players are mainly territory or moyo focused with the possible exception of Nyu Eiko who is more flexible in play style. This means this team is also a direct contract to the fighty Senko.
