Tsuji Hana - Senko 25-26

Tsuji Hana (辻華) is a 3 Dan Professional born 12th June 2000. Became a Pro at 18 and having been an Insei in the top class for more than 5 months was an automatic promotion due to recommendation so one of the first not to have to go through the horrendous league promotion route.

Her play style is interesting being described early on as balanced and well rounded but also aggressive. This aggressiveness seems to lie in not trapping and killing opposing stones but more around invasions to soak up space and making Sabaki. In her own words,

I think my playing style is one that is tough on territory [地に辛い棋風]. The ratio of practical profit (territory and real gains) to thickness (influence) is about 7:3. In terms of attacking versus supporting/escaping [sabaki], I'm better at supporting/escaping. Of course, I like attacking too, but I'm not good at situations where I really have to crush the opponent's stones.

Currently she does very well against even or lower opponents but has some difficulty with the female GO Royalty.

Her ELO sits at 2815

and the chart shows a good increase (though the gap between lowest and highest isn't enormous.

In the league last year she won 1 and lost 2 so was in the reserve player position. She has started gaining traction in the various cups and leagues but not reached a finals yet.
