Wakagoi team 25-26
This is the team I am most interested in. It's Captain is rising start Ueno Risa (the best female player in Japan's younger sister) who seems to be stratospherically rising. The team went for a deliberate strategy of retaining it's players from last year even though it came 3rd - protecting Risa and re-drafting both 7 Dan Suzuki Ayumi (4 wins 3 losses) and 5th Dan Okuda Aya (4 wind 3 losses) . Though those are decent win/loss rates.
As the fourth player they managed to pick up a player new to the league but another 7 Dan in one of the Kobaysahi sisters - Kobayashi Isumi.
The team has a wide range of perceived strengths, probably favouring territorial play with two but Risa is said to favour Moyo play and Aya likes fights.
What they appear to be aiming for is to get a strong team all over without focusing on a couple of star players whilst emphasising continuity and thus, hopefully, team play. This comes out in rankings taking into consideration just the ELO. So the team has the highest combined ELO and also the highest mean ELO.
If Risa can continue her increasing dominance and the other three players just dominate on their existing ratings then they could do well and be a strong contender this year.
